Hello, World!

The Maker Duo: Make a Scrunchie & a Zipper Pouch Together

Make a trendy scrunchie & a classic unlined zip pouch with your kid! A relaxed beginner sewing workshop for parents & kids aged 7-12

If you’re looking for a relaxed, creative morning to spend with your child, join us for a few hours of sewing. You don’t need to have ever touched a sewing machine before—this is entirely about having a go, learning a new skill together, and making something you’ll actually use.

Instead of you just sitting back and watching your kid craft, we’ve picked two brilliant projects, so you both get to make something:

  • For the kids: A couple of trendy scrunchies. They are quick to make, high-reward, and look great in hair or on wrists. If not the can make a small buttoned pouch.

  • For the Parents: A handy zippered pouch. We are keeping it super simple with no tricky linings—just honest, sturdy fabric and a zipper. It’s perfect for holding makeup, pens, or coins, and it’s a brilliant confidence builder for learning zippers.

We have a big "fabric bar" filled with lovely colours and patterns, so you can both style your projects exactly how you want.
