What started as a hobby tailoring my own wardrobe blossomed into a deep connection with the craft. That feeling of creating alongside others is the heartbeat of Tabbey Bobbin. I’m dedicated to building a vibrant sewing community in Newcastle, providing a space where local makers can connect, collaborate, and belong.

With over 16 years of experience, I’ve transitioned from a hobbyist to a professional sewing instructor. Because I am primarily self-taught, I deeply understand the challenges and triumphs of learning from scratch—I’ve been in your shoes! I’ve designed every sewing workshop and dressmaking class to be smooth, fun, and empowering. My goal is to help you move from your first stitch to confident creation with ease.

The Story Behind Tabbey Bobbin

Why the name? It’s inspired by my beloved cat, Princess! As a tabby, she was my "little assistant" (though not always the most helpful one!) in my original home studio. While Princess is now enjoying retirement and won't be at our new Newcastle city centre studio, she remains the official face of Tabbey Bobbin and a star on our social media.
